[Healing Forest Walk Course]
Warm Rest Along Baebongsan Forest Trail and Seoul Yangnyeongsi
Course Explanation
Located along the southern foothills of Dongdaemun-gu, Baebongsan Dulle-gil Trail is a circular walking path designed for anyone to enjoy at an easy pace. It is also easily accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with strollers. Wooden boardwalks winding through dense forest blend with flat dirt paths, reducing physical strain and creating a restful walking experience where visitors can fully immerse themselves in nature, even in the heart of the city.
After the walk, take a gentle break at “Chamdajeong” herbal café, located close to the trail. With wide entrances, generously spaced seating, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere, it is a comfortable place to rest. Herbal teas brewed with traditional medicinal ingredients and wholesome desserts add warmth to the moment, making it easy to slow down and unwind.
Once refreshed, continue next door to the Seoul Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicine Museum, located inside the Seoul K-Medi Center. The museum brings to life the history of Korean medicine and the traditions of the Seoul Yangnyeongsi in an engaging way. Elevators and audio-visual guidance systems are well integrated throughout the facility, allowing visitors with accessibility needs to explore and understand Korean medical culture with ease. Wide, level exhibition paths also ensure a comfortable visit for families with young children and for pregnant visitors.
Baebongsan Dulle-gil Trail is a healing urban retreat where gentle slopes and wide boardwalk paths allow visitors to walk comfortably through the forest. The colors of the woods shift beautifully with the seasons, and in autumn, vibrant foliage lines the trail, making each walk especially enjoyable.
Seniors, stroller users, and wheelchair users can all move along the path with confidence. Sections where flowers and shrubs are planted along the route invite visitors to slow down and take in the scent of each season. As the entire route is designed with gradual slopes, it works equally well as a relaxed family stroll or an easy walk for visitors with mobility needs.
Baebongsan Dulle-gil Trail is well equipped with facilities designed with families and visitors with disabilities in mind. The trail features gentle slopes and paths with little to no level changes, and electric wheelchair charging stations are available, making it comfortable for longer stays.
Braille guidance signs are installed along the railings of the deck paths, while benches set beneath the trees and scenic rest areas are placed throughout the trail. With sunlight filtering through the forest and a gentle breeze in the air, it is an inviting place to pause—whether to share a quiet conversation with family or to sit alone and take in the surrounding nature at an unhurried pace.
