Basic Information

Overview

Hwarangdae Railroad Park is a park built by repairing Hwarangdae Station, the last whistle stop of Seoul, in the last section of the Gyeongchun Line Forest Park. Old trains, such as steam locomotives and street cars placed on the abandoned railway, and trains that were operated back then are displayed to feel the old Gyeongchun Line.

Attractions

The Hwarangdae History Exhibition Hall consists of a station office, a waiting room, and an interior of a train that reproduces the appearance of the 70s and 80s. So visitors can see and experience the history of the old Hwarangdae Station. In the 'Gyeongchun Line Forest Gallery', cultural events such as various exhibitions are held. 'Nowon Light Garden' is the first night light garden of Seoul. Moreover, the theme cafe "Scenery with the train" has a large diorama with model space shuttles, mini trains, and superhero figures. It is pretty popular with citizens. It also consists of a terrace on the second floor of the café with a beautiful view of the sunset garden.

Accessibility

The entryway is wide and gently inclined. The main entrance also has no steps. However, since it is a facility built by remodeling old facilities, the main entrance and passage width of some facilities are somewhat narrow. The main entrance of the Time Museum is composed of stairs. Voice guidance buttons and emergency bells are installed in various places, and video commentary services are available through the QR code attached to the general Korean information board. The accessible restroom for persons with disabilities is located near the Hwarangdae History Exhibition Hall, and the interior space is spacious, but the entrance is rather narrow, so caution is needed. There are parking facilities for persons with disabilities that wheelchair users can use conveniently. Also, there is a diaper changing station in the public restroom.
