Basic Information

Overview

The Seoul Metropolitan Government planned the Han River Comprehensive Development Project from 1982 to 1986, and divided the Hangang river adjacent to Seoul into 13 districts. The Yeouido District is an 8.4km section at the southern end of the riverside, from the center of the Han River Railway Bridge at the bottom of the river to the slope of the Saetgang River behind the National Assembly.

Attractions

The park has good access to the public transportation as located in Yeouido, the center of politics, finance, and broadcasting. The park has several sports facilities such as a soccer field, foot volleyball court, swimming pool, inline skating rink, park golf course, and a gate ball court, attracting visitors all year round. Visitors can also enjoy various water leisure sports such as cruises, duck boats, water boats, and yachts on the Han River.

In addition, festivals, performances and events are often held. Yeouido the Cherry Blossom Festival in spring and the Seoul International Fireworks Festival in autumn are the most famous. The nearby Bamseom Island and Yeouido Saetgang River are well-preserved, making it popular as an ecological learning site.

Accessibility

There are several accessible restrooms in public restroom throughout the park. Wheelchairs and strollers can be rented at the Yeouido Information Center. When bringing a car, there are assigned parking facilities for persons with disabilities at the parking lots in Yeouido 1 in front of the 63 Building, Yeouido 2 at the southern end of Mapo Bridge, Yeouido 3 at the southern end of Seogang Bridge, Yeouido 4 under Yeouido 2 Bridge, and Yeouido 5 in front of St. Mary's Hospital.
