Basic Information

[Overview] The Korean Film Archive is Korea's sole national museum dedicated to Korean cinema, where the memories of the first 100 years of Korean film-making are gathered, leading up to the current global phenomenon of the Korean Wave. The museum hosts special exhibitions covering diverse subjects throughout the year, including "Watching Korean Cinema," which features 14 sections highlighting significant events in Korean film history, a century-long timeline of Korean cinema, the principles of animation and video, as well as a small theater within the museum.

[Accessibility] The accessible way is wide, with no steps or slopes, and Braille blocks are installed for persons with visual impairment. The main entrance is wide, free of steps or slopes, ensuring ease of access for all, including wheelchair users. At the entrance, there is a wheelchair-accessible information desk and information displays, and all exhibits are labeled with QR codes that provide video information for persons with hearing impairment. There is an elevator with braille on the buttons for each floor, but the accessible restrooms have sliding doors that are manual and lack locks, making them inconvenient to use. There is designated parking for persons with disability on the basement level, but there is no nursing room available. Diaper changing stations can be found in the accessible restrooms for persons with disabilities located within the women's bathrooms.
