Basic Information

[Overview] Situated in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, Ansan is a small mountain, yet its peak features a beacon recognized as Seoul Monument No. 13, a significant historical site where the last battle of the Korean War took place. It now hosts Korea's first barrier-free 7-kilometer circular Jarak-gil, which translates to a trail. It is a woodland trail with a mild incline that enables you to enjoy a relaxed walk while experiencing forest bathing. The majority of the trail consists of wooden treads, allowing individuals with disabilities, the elderly, children, and those using wheelchairs or strollers to enjoy the walk. Different forests line every part of the trail, and at the intersection of the mountain trail and Ansan Jarak-gil, there’s a walking library where you can savor a special reading and healing time in nature.

[Accessibility] the road is inclined, posing challenges for wheelchair users to climb by themselves. When using the subway, one can get off at Dongnimmun Station on Line 3 or Hongje Station and Sinchon Station on Line 2, but the steep slope may hinder access for wheelchair users and other tourists with disabilities trying to reach the mountain. there`s a disabled parking lot nearly, A charger for electric wheelchairs is available beside the information center. The accessible restroom for persons with disabilities is a bit cramped and could be inconvenient, but it includes emergency bells. A diaper changing station is available in the regular restrooms.
