[Overview] Situated in Seoul, South Korea, the National Museum of Korea houses a wide array of artworks and artifacts that represent the history and culture of Korea. The museum provides visitors with an educational and cultural experience through the exhibition of artworks from various periods, including Goryeo, Joseon, and modern times, along with jewelry, ceramics, paintings, and crafts from around the world.
[Accessibility] A level surface and a ramp of 3 degrees or less is available for easy access from the accessible way to the main entrance. The main entrance has a hinged door but an ample room for a wheelchair in front of it. It is wheelchair-friendly, with no slopes or steps. The information desk can also be easily accessed by wheelchair users. The building features an elevator that reaches all floors, with voice guides and enough interior space for wheelchair maneuverability. Accessible restrooms for persons with disabilities can be found on every floor. There is a nursing room on the first floor in the lobby, equipped with a microwave and diaper changing station accessible for wheelchairs. Tactile models and Braille descriptions are available throughout for the visually impaired, and sign language interpretation is available upon reservation for the hearing impaired. There is also a kiosk with sign language recognition technology that offers interpretation for visitors with hearing impairment.
