Overview
Eunpyeong Hanok Village, along with Bukchon Hanok Village and Namsangol Hanok Village, is a representative Hanok village in Seoul. It is not a village that has existed for a long time, but since 2010, modern Hanoks, Korean traditional houses, have been built, and it has been reborn as a village with actual residents and a tourist attraction to experience Korean culture. With the background of Bukhansan Mountain landscape, the village has the harmonized atmosphere of the antique Hanok houses and modern commercial facilities.
Attractions
Eunpyeong Hanok Village has eight scenic views: Tombstone for Lady Sukyong, Jingwansa Temple, Samcheonsa Temple, Jingwansa Valley, Taegukgi Monument, Hanok Village Zelkova, Boreal Digging Frog Habitat, and Hanok Village Alley, Each of which is closely related to the Eunpyeong-gu area. There are various exhibition and experience spaces in the village. The Eunpyeong History Hanok Museum exhibits Hanok-related contents, and has a rooftop to enjoy the panoramic view of the Hanok Village at a glance. At the visitor center, Neonadeuri Center, visitors can rent Korean traditional clothes Hanbok and take pictures in the Hanbok experience room. Small literature and art galleries such as the Three Authors' Gallery and the Samgaksan Geumam Art Museum add to the relaxing atmosphere of Hanok Village. There is a wooden deck trail nearby to take a walk while enjoying the view of Bukhansan Mountain.
Accessibility
The entryway is gently inclined. The main entrance has no steps or raised spots, and the road surface is wide so anyone, including wheelchair users, can conveniently visit. There is an accessible restroom in the public restroom at the entrance of the Jingwansa Temple. The nursing room is on the 1st floor of the Eunpyeong History Hanok Museum and wheelchairs and strollers can be rented at the museum as well.
