Basic Information
Overview
The Yun Dong-ju Literature Museum was opened in 2012 by remodeling the Cheongunsu Water Supply Compression Center and Water Tank, which had been neglected near the Inwangsan Mountain. The museum was created to remember the footsteps of poet Yoon Dong-ju and his gaze toward the world. The museum received the Korea Public Architecture Award in 2012 and the Seoul Metropolitan Government Architecture Award in 2014, and is attracting attention as a place that has newly created the value of space.
Attractions
There are three exhibition rooms that display the life of poet Yun Dong-ju in chronological order. The first exhibition room is about the life of poet Yun Dong-ju. The second exhibition room, "Open Well," is a space prepared with the motif of a well appearing in poet Yoon Dong-ju's poem "Self-Portrait". It expressed an "open well" by opening the top of an abandoned water tank. The third exhibition room, "Closed Well," is a quiet contemplation space where visitors can enjoy videos of his poetry world.
