Overview

Buk-Seoul Museum of Art in Nowon-gu is an art museum that coexists with the local community. In terms of architecture, it is an open space that connects the park trail and the entrance to the museum. Located on a small hill that seems to recreate the natural surroundings of Suraksan Mountain and Buramsan Mounatain, visitors can feel the changes of the four seasons.


Attractions

The Buk-Seoul Museum of Art has various facilities, including outdoor sculpture exhibitions, maze-type exhibition rooms, art libraries, cafes, and multipurpose halls. The exhibition halls on the first and second floors present exhibitions in various themes, and the Project Gallery on the first floor has a luminous ceiling instead of lights, so there are no shadows while enjoying the artworks. Merged three floors into one open floor, the Children's Gallery is a vertically open space, which allows to appreciate the artworks from different point of views. There are various educational and public programs for children, such as creative activities, conversations with artists, and lectures on art history. 


Accessibility

The entryway is wide, flat, and has no steps. The main entrance is flat with no steps, and an automatic door is installed. There is a Korean braille and voice guidance map in front of the main entrance, and a pictogram guide throughout the building. At the information desk, there is a Korean braille information board and an emergency bell, and wheelchair rental is available as well. Voice guidance and commentary videos in Korean sign languages are available on the Seoul Museum of Art app. There is an wheelchair accessible elevator near the locker room. The is a separate restroom for both persons with disabilities and families with children, which has a diaper changing station and children holder. At the nursing room near the locker room, there are a diaper changing station, a water purifier, and a sink. There are 4 parking lots for persons with disabilities at the basement floor of the building.
