Yongma Falls Park

Basic Information

Overview 

The Yongma Falls Park is the city neighboring park of Myeonmok-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul. The park used to be a quarry, Jungnajng-gu rebuilt it as a park in 1997. Yongma Waterfall is the tallest artificial waterfall in the Asia. There is The Cheongryong Falls on the left side of Yongma Falls, The Baekma Falls on the right side. Both falls are long more than 20m. The sound of water coming down the three magnificent waterfalls gives a refreshing feeling, and the night view is especially outstanding.

Attractions 

Inside the pond below the waterfall, the famous artist's artwork 'Oval Headquarters' is located, and wheelchair users can access the middle of the pond along a narrow passageway. The outdoor tables are used as picnic spot for all citizens, and the central lawn plaza is used as an outdoor wedding venue. The park is open 24 hours a day, but the waterfall is only open for a total of four months from May to August and operates three weekdays in May and June, four holidays, four weekdays from July 16, and five holidays, including night operations. In case of rain, the waterfall is suspended.

Accessibility  

There is a rather long and steep section at the entryway from the subway station to the park, that is necessary to be careful for wheelchair users and strollers. The main entrance and the passageway are wide with no steps or slopes, so wheelchair users can freely enter and exit. There are four parking facilities for persons with disabilities and ten women-only parking facilities installed in the ground parking lot. There is an accessible restroom for persons with disabilities (family restroom), and diaper changing stations are installed inside. Guests can rent strollers at the management office.
