Basic Information

Overview

Sanmaru Playground, in Changsin-dong, Jongno-gu, is a playground with a new play space concept for children. It is a nature-friendly playground with a thimble-shaped facilities in Changsin-dong, where there were many sewing factories.

Attractions

The thimble-shaped structures of the Sanmaru Playground are designed so that visitors can walk up the upper floor in a round shape like a jungle gym, and at the top, visitors can see Namsan and downtown of Seoul at a glance. Unlike traditional playgrounds, it is equipped with various nature-friendly facilities such as a yellow clay playground, a sand playground, and a treasure-hunting playground so visitors can play while touching the soil and sand. In addition, the Golmu Hall, a multi-purpose space with libraries and media facilities with more than 1,000 books, is a loved spot as a resting place for residents.

Accessibility

Some sections of the entryway are uphill and have stairs, so it is recommended for wheelchair users and strollers use their own cars or ride a taxi to the main entrance. The main entrance has no steps. and the road surface in the playground is generally flat. There is an information center and a Korean information board at the entrance of the playground for wheelchair users to easily access. There is a accessible restroom for persons with disabilities with toilet for chilren, so interior space is rather narrow so caution is needed. There is a diaper changing station near the entrance of the children’s restroom.
