Overview
The National Hangeul Museum is a place where visitors can learn the history and contributions of written Korean cultural heritage, Hangeul. This museum designed based on the beauty of a Korean traditional house is a instructive institution that promotes the unique nature and cultural values of Hangeul by showcasing the language through collaborations with various field such as science and art.
Contests
The museum has 4 stories from the 1BF to 3 and has an outdoor lounge where events, exhibitions and some classes are held, such as the 'Hangeul Nuri (Library)', permanent exhibition, 'Arum Nuri(shop for soubenirs and tea)', special exhibitions and children's museum. Relics such as "Hunminjeongeum", "Yongbieocheonga", and "Wolinseokbo", which are important in the history of Hangeul, are on display. In addition, educational programs such as 'Exiting Hangeul', 'Tasty Hangeul' are poerated for students and teachers.
Accessibility
The entryway is fully accessible and is connected to an exit from Ichon station line 4. Main entrance has no obstacles or inclines and has tactile paving. Information desk is low to the ground to ensure easy access for wheelchair users. Information desk provides a Korean description braille guide map and informational graphics as well. Restrooms and parking lots are accessble and there is an infant nursing room on the 3F.
