Basic Information

Overview

Boramae Park is the largest park in the southwestern part of Seoul and was opened in 1986, using the name ‘Boramae’, the symbol of the Air Force Academy, on the site of the former Academy grounds. The park is located across 3districts of Seoul, Dongjak-gu, Gwanak-gu and Yeondeungpo-gu, and is easily accessed by public transportation. The park has running paths, basketball courts, and fitness facilities, as well as a small orchard and scenic paddy field.

Attractions

At Boramae Park, there are sports facilities such as a grass soccer field, tennis, badminton and basketball courts, climbing walls, a gate ball field, an inline skating rink, an X-GAME arena, acupressure sidewalks, and a fitness gym. In addition, there are ponds, royal azalea gardens, Mugunghwa gardens, outdoor fountains, a water park, the municipal Boramae Youth Center, library, etc. The Air Park actually exhibits retired ROK Air Force planes.

Accessibility

Since the main entrance is under construction until May 2022, wheelchair users need to use a detour. Accessible parking lots are located by both the main gate and east gate, but the east gate has a steep ramp which might be difficult for some wheelchair users. Inside the park, there are no obstacles or steep inclines. At each gate, braille description guide maps are displayed. Restrooms are highly accessible and have emergency call buttons. An infant nursing room and diaper changing station are available.
