Basic Information

Overview 

The Seoul Museum of Art ’s architecture harmonizes Renaissance aesthetics with modern style. The access path from Deoksugung Doldam-gil to Jeongdong-gil is beautiful with the glass passage connecting the old and new buildings boasting attractive natural light. It was designated as registered Cultural Property No. 237 in March 2006, for its architectural and historical value.

 

Attractions 

The Seoul Museum of Art present s special exhibitions such as the International Media Art Biennale and the Art Museum Spring Outing as well as exhibitions of world-famous artists such as Chagall, Picasso, and Van Gogh. Visitors can enjoy various programs such as exhibitions, workshops, performances and lectures as well as the SeMA Café+, an Art Bookstore, and an outdoor sculpture park. 

 

Accessibility 

The entryway has a gentle incline. The main entrance has no obstacles and inclines, and has tactile paving. The information desk and guide map are low to ensure easy access for wheelchair users, but no Korean braille description is provided. People with hearing disabilities can read subtitled Korean descriptions from a guided tour through the Seoul Museum of Art app. Parking lots and restrooms are accessible and a lounge for families with infantsa nursing room and diaper changing stations are available
