Basic Information

Overview The Seoul Animation Center is an exhibition space with interactive experiences established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to promote Korea’s cartoon characters and animation industries. The center was opened in May 1999 with the data hall, a theater and exhibitions. Visitors can enjoy various activities and programs such as watching animation, digital drawing, and playing VR games. 

 

Attractions A Comics Café on the 1F houses an expansive library open to all fans of comics and cartoons. From old-school 90s comics to the latest animations, visitors can read 30,000 books for free. Also, Ani Picnic on the 2F allows visitors to meet beloved characters including Pororo, Tayo, Super Wings, Sofy Ruby, Slow Slow Sloth Neul, Wonderland Alice, and many others. 


Accessibility The entryway is wide, has no inclines or obstacles and has tactile paving. The information desk is easy to access for wheelchair users but has no Korean description braille map for the visually impaired. An accessible parking lot is located in front of the entrance of Ani Picnic. The Elevator has Korean braille descriptions for each button. Infant nursing rooms with diaper changing stations are available for families with babies.
