Basic Information
Overview
The Children's Grand Park, located in Neung-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, was used as a golf course during the Japanese colonial era. Before Jamsil Lotte World opened, it was the largest theme park in Seoul. Initially, there was an entrance fee but since October 2006, the majority of the park (including the zoo), except for a few for-profit facilities such as amusement parks, has been opened to the public free of charge. The city reopened 14 rides and an indoor playground beginning April 1, 2021, after undergoing safety inspections.
Attractions
Children’s Grand Park is a rejuvenating experience for visitors as well as an ecological park where animals and plants coexist. The park has various facilities for guests including the zoo, the amusement park, the botanical garden, the musical fountain, the Arisu promotion hall, and the Sangsangnara walking trail.
Accessibility
The entryway has a gentle incline. Pathways inside are wide and gently inclined. A restroom in the information center is accessible but the one in the food court might not be easily accessible for some wheelchair users. There are accessible parking lots both on the ground and underground. The ramps in the park are well designed but there are some steep inclines in the zoo. Wheelchair rental service and the infant nursing room with diaper changing stations are available.
