Overview
Block City is an experiential exhibition space designed to develop understanding of economics and trade for children ages 6 to9 children located at the Korean Economic DevelopmentExhibition Hall in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. The Korean Economic DevelopmentExhibition Hall is in the Global Knowledge Exchange & Development Centerwhich is operated by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. For the convenienceof visitors, the center operates shuttle buses and offersvarious exhibition for free.
Attractions
The exhibition consists of five spaces, “We are Block City Citizens!”, “Cutty ToyDepartment”, “Colorful Container Terminals”, “Twinkle, Twinkle Trading Port”and “SangSang SsukSsuk Toy Factory”. Children can learn about the fields of economics andtrade easily by using educationaltoys and blocks.
Accessibility
The entryway has no obstacle or inclines and has tactile paving.The main entrance has an incline which might presentan inconvenience for wheelchair users. The guide map board providesKorean braille descriptions but no voice assistance. Wheelchair rental is availableand the elevator is accessible for all. Restrooms and parkinglots for people with disabilities are highly accessible as well. There is a nursing room with an automatic door located on the 1F.
